I’m one of the few lucky people who got to read this brilliant ARC.
Gosh, I can’t believe it. Let me do a happy dance first and then I’ll tell you all about it.
Ok, so get this. Guinevere Aurora Poe – Sebastian Evans + Eli Davenport – Hannah Michaels = LOVE. Guinevere was engaged to Sebastian. They were going to attend the wedding of Eli and Hannah, only there was a slight change of plans, because Sebastian was having an affair with Hannah, so he stopped the weeding and run away with the bride.
No, don’t feel bad, don’t cry. It’s was the best thing that could ever happen. Also, the perfect start for this perfect story.
“My name is Eli Davenport, I’m 6’1 and a half, 184 pounds, age 31 as of two days ago, born on June 23rd. I’m also a neurosurgeon at New York Presbyterian. I have a younger brother who introduced my fiancée to her lover, and she ran off with him on our wedding day. Nice to meet you.”
“Guinevere Poe, 5’9 exactly, my weight is not your concern, age 24 since February 13th. I’m also a painter and photographer. My fiancé took me as his date to a wedding only to run off with the bride, leaving me with no way of getting home. Nice to meet you, Eli.”
1. Gwen moves to the apartment next door to Eli.
2. They don’t seem to like each other in the beginning, which is great for us. Why? Because their teasing and calling each other names makes us laugh hard.
“How is it possible for you to both compliment and insult me at the same time?”
3. They slowly become good friends.
4. You should really read the book yourself and you’ll find out the rest.
This book definitely goes on my Favorite List. I loved it with all my heart. I’ve only read Ruthless People by J.J. McAvoy, but this one is completely different. Which makes it even better, because now I’m sure I’ll be J.J.’s fan forever. A great author is supposed to be able to write different things, equally amazing. And that’s what she’s done.
It would be impossible for you not to love it too. You have two great main characters, funny and really smart, and an original plot, that comes with a few surprises along the way. You feel the love, you feel your heart break, you might roll on the floor laughing, but you should also keep your Kleenex close by. I guarantee you’ll need it. On top of all that, the ending is superb.
And this, my friends, is the perfect recipe for a 5★ book.
ps: This is a stand alone novel and it will be released on April, 21 2016.
