Things change. Sometimes not for the better.
Xavier is no longer the maid’s son. Or my best friend. Now he’s wealthy and powerful--the dark don, in charge of one of the largest corporations in the world.
I never expected the boy who always saved me to be the man who kidnaps me.
Some things never change.
Rhiannon is still as fiery and beautiful as the day I walked away. Now I'm back, ready to seek vengeance against the one man who wronged me. My rival. Her father.
If her father wants war, he'll get a war.
Kidnapping his daughter is the key to my ultimate revenge.
Standalone Mafia Romance
I’m a huge fan of mafia novels. This one was so bad, I can’t even tell you.
First of all, there’s too much focus on their childhood.
Then, I didn’t like any character. None. Zero.
She was the mob princess trapped in the castle by her own father, he was the maid’s son.
They’re separated, but he returns to kidnap her.
Don’t read the spoiler if you don’t want a resume of the whole thing
View Spoiler »She falls in love with him. They have sex without revealing any feelings (to be fair, we got that they had a special connection when they were kids) and then he sets her free, but fake shots her in the church, when she was supposed to marry someone her father chose for her. Then he takes her away, something like witness protection, changes her name and everything, then comes back to her 6 months later and they move to Ireland. « Hide Spoiler. WTF?!
I love books that made me fall in love with the characters, for whatever reason, or make me feel something – anything, or that teach me something. I got nothing from Taken. Sorry.
I don’t think I have too many books on my shelves with 1* rating (later edit: 19 books out of 502). Thank God I didn’t pay for it and I found it on Kindle Unlimited.
