Even for a top-gun banker, temptation this hot is quite a gamble, in a sexy Wall Street romp from New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne.

An alpha among the wolves of Wall Street, Kennedy Dawson rose to the top of the pack by striking the right contracts at the right times. But there’s one deal that’s been giving him a run for his money—a pact to never again let his assistant, Kate, get under his skin. She may be smart, gorgeous, and sharp as a whip, but she’s definitely off-limits.

Kate Henley isn’t a banker, but she knows a thing or two about risk management—specifically, about managing her attraction to her smolderingly sexy boss. She already fell once, and Kennedy showed no sign of paying a return on her investment. So when Kennedy’s brother starts pursuing her, Kate figures she has the best of both worlds. Jack is charming, rich, very attentive, and the spitting image of his older brother.

It’s also making Kennedy think twice. But to win Kate’s heart, he’ll have to broker the deal of a lifetime…and prove he’s worth the risk.

Checkmate! 5⭐️

Wow! I forgot how much I wanted to know Kennedy & Kate’s story, while reading the first two books in the series Hot Asset  and Hard Sell. Huge Deal can be read as a standalone, but i would strongly suggest you pick them in order, because the previous main characters appear in this one as well and also, Kennedy and Kate’s relationship somehow starts in the first book. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything, but you’ll just know them better. ☺️

I figured this was gonna be an explosive story, that would stir up tons of emotions, making me laugh and cry in the same time. It was also sooo infuriating, Kennedy with his stupid childish pact of not dating Kate (because she is his assistant) and Kate towards the end and i’ll let you figure out why.

“Five years ago, Kate had inadvertently overheard a conversation among the three guys discussing how undatable she was. Kennedy’s exact words were She’s hardly irresistible, after which he’d suggested they all agree never to date her. Hearing Ian and Matt agree to the pact had stung a little—she was human, after all. But hearing Kennedy’s casual dismissal of her had damn near ripped her heart out.“

The thing is we know for sure Kennedy just has his head up his ass and that he actually cares a lot about Kate, just doesn’t know exactly how much and what to do with it. So, we just have to wait and enjoy their bumpy and slow ride to HEA.

I’ll go ahead and assume you have read the first two books as well, so you won’t need any details about the characters, because you already know them, but for those of you who didn’t: Kennedy is this uptight, bowtie wearing, thirty something, brooding control freak, who enjoys opera and playing chess and Kate is this super smart, detail oriented, executive assistant for him and his other two best friends/colleagues. She might appear plain or ordinary, but she’s far from it.

So there you have it. A sexy story about a Wall Street banker and his long time assistant. How to “cure your blindness” and see what has been in front of you for so long, and going all in the perfect relationship with the perfect woman for you.

I absolutely adored all books in the series and also Lauren Layne’s writing so I don’t know why in God’s name i haven’t read anything else by her so far. This is my personal note to change that ASAP.
