I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.
The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.
Killian Shepard.
Shep.
We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.
He’d be back. He was always meant to be mine.
He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.
So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.
I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael. Now we’re one big happy f*cking family.

Fucking Mess 3.5 ⭐️

First of all, I hate my new friend Dilek for “making me” read this book!
It’s the first time i’m using .5⭐️ just because it’s important for you to know that I am exactly between liking and loving it. Actually, no! I take that back. I didn’t love it, nor I could ever possibly will, especially since I was about to drop it at least 100 times.

Let’s proceed. Here’s my journey reading it
1%:

and

Big words preparing you for the fucking mess that’s coming.

2%:

And the rest is history.

Here’s what I’m thinking.
First and foremost, this heroine needs a wholeheartedly bitch slap!
There’s no fucking way I could ever understand how can you love a man, marry his brother, still love that said man and basically be a bitch that doesn’t know what she wants!

I hated the narrative. It’s nonlinear, out of chronological order, so I found it confusing, hard to follow and it just irritated me.

I really didn’t care at all about their history and childhood memories. We got it, her husband was her best friend and his brother was the love of her life.

I felt sorry for Kael and that’s not something I want for my heroes.

The heroine shilly-shallies between these two men throughout the whole book. It’s was exhausting, not to mention insulting when you have a man who adores you and would literally die for you, but you’re still dreaming/waiting for another?!?!

I have two quotes I want to remember from this and show to you:

and

In case you were wondering why i (almost) gave it 4⭐️ and managed to finish it, well, it’s because of the last few chapters, when the questions are answered, there’s a bright light shinning in all that darkness and you can actually see the whole picture!!!

In the end, I was about to tell you that you shouldn’t read this one, but then I changed my mind.
Read it only if you think you can stomach it and most importantly IF YOU PROMISE NOT TO DNF-IT, otherwise, don’t even bother!
