OTT ⭐️

So I’ve just finished it, but I have no idea how I feel about it. 🤔
There are two ways I could look at it. One: be impressed by everything that happened or two: I could say “Ms. McAvoy, you fucked up my series.” I’m not sure!!! 🤯

American Savages starts with Liam in jail and Melody abducted by her mother, or more accurately choosing to stay away from her new born baby and family.
He spends five months in jail waiting to be convicted for murdering his wife.
She comes back and the madness begins. Her grandfather, the FBI director wants her and everyone around her dead. He’s more ruthless, much more powerful and full os resources to take the Callahans down.

“Avian wanted you in jail and he needed me dead. We have our men, he has his agents. They all think that they’re serving their country. They belong to the White List…a group of FBI and CIA agents hidden in plain view.“

You see, that’s why I’m not sure about this one. I thought it was already a bit crazy when they made Olivia’s dad President of the United States. But now, shit has really hit the fan with this OTT conspiracy and craziness.

“Sex and violence: the greatest duo since the Three Stooges.”

This quote sums up perfectly the whole scenario of this book. All the twists and turns of this plot are filled with violence, but then you turn the page and Liam and Melody are in love and still have all that amazing sex.

“Liam,” she said gently, and I wanted to laugh, but instead I smirked at her, as I sat against the wall next to the window. “Don’t go all ‘sweet wife’ on me now. Go on, I can take it,” I said. Her eyebrow twitched. “I’m working on trying to be kinder to you, but you’re a pain in my motherfucking ass sometimes, Callahan. Why in the goddamn hell is it so hard for you to sit down, shut up and just—” “There’s my Mel. I thought you had drowned in a vat of rainbows and pixie dust.”

I don’t want to spoil the fun for you, but trust me when I say, the ending is even more shocking than killing FBI agents, calling the President puppet, hacking into FBI’s computers and kidnapping an undercover FBI agent from inside an embassy. 🙄

“We bend, but we not break, and when we snap back, someone always suffers. Tomorrow, we will make sure that the message is clear: we can never be broken.”

One thing is for sure, i’ll take a star back from my initial 5 I gave in 2015.
